» Archeological exscursion to the Menhir of Tramonti

It's a megalith 2.48 mt. high which, together with two other menhir (the fallen one on Mount Capri, more than 3 and a half meters long, and the other one on Mount Madonna, now at the civic museum in La Spezia) are since many years archaeologists' study.

They think that these menhirs belonged to an astronomic and religious place in the prehistoric age and that they could be the original models of the better known "statue stele" in Lunigiana.

An interesting book on this subject is "Misteri delle Cinque Terre e della Lunigiana" (The Cinque Terre and Lunigiana mysteries) by Luigi Cavallo edited by "La Versiliana Editrice".
